Resume by Elijah ‘Illia’ Semenov

For the last 5 years, I'm working as a Product Designer on one very big product - airSlate. airSlate is a document automation service, that can do almost anything with documents. From simple tasks like editing PDFs, creating forms, or eSigning documents to more strategic requirements, such as automating workflows and creating intelligent work processes. I’m responsible for a lot of parts of the product functionality and identity. Let’s deep down for a few of them.

Forms

Forms is very convenient tool for our users to collect data from theirs customers. Unlike other web forms products like Google Forms or JotForm, airSlate’s Forms can afford you a rich variety of Elements & Widgets that give you a possibility to build a data collection layer that fits your needs. Roles and data based Conditions gives you rich configurable control of which field will be accessible for one user or another. This flexibility is very appreciated by our customers and displayed in feedback via calls and statistic metrics (almost every Flow created in airSlate have at least one Form). But Forms (as actually any document) is just the beginning. In airSlate you can empower documents to pre-fill field values from different data resources such as: CRM systems (Salesforce, Dynamics, NetSuite etc), Google Sheets, other documents in the Flow and many more. All thanks to other part of airSlate that I worked for - Bots.

Other document types that i worked for: Contract negotiation, Document Generation, Payment Form, Authentication Form.

Bots

Bots are very powerful tool that can distribute data from one information Layer to another. By Layer, we mean other documents in the workflow or 3rd party services and products such as Salesforce, Google Sheets, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle NetSuite and many others. All Bots can also have execution Conditions which allow configuring a very flexible workflow that can work in one way or another based on the data in fields, workflow status, values in the CRM system and so on. Instead of our competitors in the automation industry, we can manage all this advanced functionality without a single line of code. On one hand, our goal was to create a UI that can handle all these powerful possibilities. On other hand, we need to create UX that will be simple enough for users to set it up without concern, no matter if the user wants just to pre-fill data from a CRM record to a document or to set up some hardcore execution conditions based on a variety of parameters. The feedback from our customers is saying that in both of these cases we succeeded. The last but not the least part of airSlate that create a solid using experience for our customers is a possibility to use automation and workflows in a convenient place for them. For example, our Salesforce customers don’t want to open airSlate to send something for their customers. They just want to press a button in Salesforce record and watch magic. Here we come to the third part of airSlate that I worked for - Integrations.

Our Bots catalog to show the variety of possibilities.

Integrations

Integrations are a big part of airSlate and are very important for our users. The possibility to work in your CRM system of choice and empower it with Web Forms, PDF editing, Contract negotiation and many more is incredible. Our integrations always use patterns that are relevant to a specific CRM system. For Salesforce as an example, we are giving the possibility to run Flows via Custom Buttons which is the most convenient way for users to interact with a system. Also, we giving some extra like Scheduled Flows, Salesforce Process related Flow execution, SOQL queries and so on. Feedback that we are receiving from our customers saying that our integration is very powerful and easy to configure, especially in comparison with our competitors such as Conga, DocuSign and others. Focus on ease of use and adopting for native CRM patterns are key point of success (59% of all Slates was created outside the airSlate via our integrations).

Mobile Signing Session

Mobile Signing Session is one of the essential parts of airSlate. Most of our customers use mobile phones to fill out documents so this process must be flawless. Combining all our features and possibilities in size and limits of a smartphone is a challenging task, but key metrics that we see after the release of the new Mobile Signing Session show that we succeeded.

Identity

As a Product Designer, I was also responsible for product identity. Here are some examples of logotypes and colours that were created or redesigned by me to match a company style.
